Plea for the Missing

Plea for the Missing

A Poem by TogetherAgain
"

You meet my eyes and look away, as if I'm not there. Am I here? Why can't you see me?

"

Touch me,

can you touch me?

Look at me,

can you see me?

Am I invisible? Am I missing from view?

Do I exist at all?

Please tell me;

I can't see anymore

With you lost and found all over again,

up and down with no end

Please,

look at me and smile

at me, for me

not the boy behind me

Tell me what's wrong,

let me in

I'm invisible, aren't I?

Please look at me

look into my eyes,

these eyes that aren't me,

too dark, too faded

and tell me--

Do you see me?

Speak to me,

tell me that I'm here

Speak to me, not through me;

not at the girl over there

I'm invisible,

you don't even see me

Our eyes meet, but you look away.

Hello?

Am I still here?
