Akhila

Akhila

A Poem by Prana
"

A short passage from the world of Prana

"
At the darkest point of night, Akhila, an elderly woman, listens for Sugar Gnats. She roams, her catching jar clenched tightly, preparing for bounty. Elusive gnats antagonize Akhila, dodging attempts of being caught. Persistent on receiving the Sugar Gnat's euphoric properties, Akhila continues to swing at the air.

"Cheeky b******s!" she mutters under her breath.

As fatigue sets in, the elderly woman finds a stump. Here, she rests, using the song of Chatter Beetles as a mantra for prayer.
