Burn Yourself Into My Life

Burn Yourself Into My Life

A Poem by aaronbranch

Try to digest your words.
Oh so hard to chew.
Even harder to swallow.
They burn in your stomach.
Like they burn a hole in my mind.
For so long I've listened.
For so long I've believed.
No longer will I be that guy.
You can't lean on me.
I'm not that stable myself.
So sick from the lies.
Even more sick of your eyes.
They too, burn in my mind.
I'm a sucker for a cute face.
I'm a sucker for a sad story.
Even more of a sucker than before.
Like me more when I don't care.
When I give up on you.
Hate me when I fall for you.
Make up your mind.
Before I lose mine.
