Summertime Odes

Summertime Odes

A Poem by Aaron Brammeier

I drink the air

gulping mouthfuls of hair

exploding forays of heat

hit the burning cigarette

sending whisp’s of smoke swirling

around fingertip fans

gulping sweet tea

driving on slanted roads

while screaming dissonance

and country twangs beat through

crackled speakers

this is summertime

and for once I feel free…
