Him

Him

A Poem by Andrea A. Wentz
"

A poem lost in the crash, but now restored!

"

A tender touch,

Fingers interlaced.

A whisper, a smile, a kiss,

May this moment never end.

But normal life seems to crash,

crash right through the door

shattering the peace

the moment slips away

in favor of life’s obligations

Will those memories ever return?

Eventually the stress subsides,

and the memories reawaken.

A decision must be made,

Do you feel the same or no?

Fear grips

long gone memories return

Is this the same or is it new?

Is this real or

is this an illusion?

Can you trust again?

Do you want to trust?

Take a step forward

or turn and retreat?

You know how you feel

Take a chance

Take up courage

What do you have to lose,

but him?

I'm struck mostly because this is exactly how I am with a friend even though we broke up a year and a half ago...there are those that you re destined to love forever, and it hurts a lot. But getting back to your poem, I think it's very good. I was a little sad that after the crashing through the door most of the images stopped and it became very blunt statements. Not necessarily bad, but I tend to like people expressing one thing by saying another. If that makes sense. :) I do like what you have written, though!

writing is such a powerful way to heal. asking these tough questions and doing it in such a creative way like you do is so helpful to your readers that relate and I hope it is healing to you too. Thank you for being brave enough to share your emotions in tough times. Your expression is beautiful.
