One Last Time

One Last Time

A Poem by ac979a7x

College, babies, or work, who would've thought?

Adolescent not, just take me back to the good days.

Chillin with my boys, not a trouble in sight.

At Shipley's the day begins, large Big Red

Sausage and cheese kolaches, stuffing our faces.

Pack into lifted trucks, and begin rolling

Coal and burning rubber down country roads.

Pass hot and sweaty nights on a wooden porch, got

Cold ones crackin, with a smoke in hand. Begin

to gather around recounting our ancient tales

Excess laughter, brings a tear to my eye

Cause soon we’d go our separate ways.

Life happens, who would've thought? Man this sucks

Take me back to the good ole days, for old times sake.
