Summer Song

Summer Song

A Poem by Kathryn Coagula

Aqua velvet soak my skin
Spread my lips
Let me begin
To tell you a story
Something simple and sweet
Let me not quite finish it
Until the next time we meet
I wish for this encounter to last forever
You and me,plus this sweet entrancing weather
The kind that sets your soul at ease
Where all your worries are carried off by the breeze.

Oh sweet summer goddess,
Sit with me awhile more
Let me swim in your tidal pools
Until I am deliciously sore
Then carry me home
To an afternoon storm
Filled with refreshing raindrops and electricity
Send me into slumber
With a ripe full moon
Only to awaken
To your dawn in full bloom
Where my eyes will witness
Another full day
Of you and your sweet Elementals
At work and at play.
