Song of A Butterfly

Song of A Butterfly

A Poem by A.C. Lei

How long hath I waited for thee
To welcome me from my wakened slumber
To patiently watch and wait
As I stumble and crawl in my innocent pace
Like a siren call thy gentle words had left me shaken
To twitch in delight within shells I entombed
Beckoning me slowly
I begin to yearn for thy light
I escaped the darkness that is the past
To thy heart's beat
I find my course
My untried wings flutter
To stumble and soar, nothing mattered
But to land in thy palms
Where I find my home
To stay as long as time's mercy
Would grant me in its whim
Until fortnight's comes-a-calling
That I must leave for my last flight
