Future

Future

A Poem by Adam Parker
"

pondering about what could happen etc

"

Vacuum of the future, endless pondering, you're transfixed

a myriad of frog spawn settles and waits to be born

Stars twinkle in the galaxy, eyes open, encircled in it

the world is a chessboard and you're a pawn

Not warned, you wish for the crystal ball

you hope that if you look to the sky it will all be clear

You see a man climbing a ladder, he falls

Upon the linear line there is only love and fear

You're near, your anxiety plans out bleakness and flaw

on your canvas you see only black harsh brush strokes

the murder of ravens exclaim a hollow "CAW"

you imagine your future to be bereft of hope

its a joke, the large giant of time is a fraud

Guessing about the future is throwing a dart backwards

It won't land , It will duck , dive and miss the board

the microscope should focus on the present, and always look forward.
