Green

Green

A Poem by Adam Parker
"

Avoidance of self

"
Consumed in green; faint hearted paradise, I fall
slither and crawl with the weak of stomach and cracked knees,
I beg and plead for the

Rolled paper and cardboard filter tip,
I filter this ,
remove the poisons from the tap water ,
My evasion of slaughter, tar fills my lungs,
I'm a guitar that's restrung , I've rewound I need
Warm gun.

I see the shadow on the wall in my removal from self
It needs pain,a black hole abate of obstruction ,
My self destruction , abating of health ,
Can I function
with sobriety, or the irony
That it is not the man who needs alleviation from the self
But the self from the man ,
If I withstand ,
I can fix man.
