Drink

Drink

A Poem by Ditziie Carol
"

My Drinking Problem

"
Every morning, I open my eyes.
For a second, the world seems beautiful,
life seems okay.
Then I come to my senses,
I remember who I am, what my life is.
I think, "Maybe I won't drink today."
I roll over, light up a cigarette,
cough until I can't breathe,
then finish smoking it.
All the time thinking,
"Maybe I won't drink today,"
even though in the back of my mind,
I know I will.
