Dark

Dark

A Poem by Adriani Putri
"

Dad...

"
I fear voices
Loud voices
People's screams
Even laughter

I fear sleep!
When I close my eyes
While counting sheep
I hear tears

I fear people, I fear men
I hear chaos, I hear pain
Under the roof
Inside four walls

Father
How am I suppose to tell you
That you are
The cause of my fears

One can feel the anxiety and fear rising with each sighing line, yet the ending still stuns the soul to aching. You created this painful path so vividly, Adriani. xo

If she heard the voices at night in bed, that's where demons come out, especially as a child. The affects could be long lasting.

An honest poem, a soul's confession set to a delicate rhyme.
Nicely written, dear poet. I hope you will share many more honest creations.

Such a powerful poem and about such a negative subject. A child should never fear their parent. Ever. Thanks for sharing such a wonderfully written poem and have a great day.
