Little Girl

Little Girl

A Poem by Afayah

Why are you shy, little girl?

What have I done to scare you?

Where is your mother, little girl?

I hope she’s nowhere near you.

Why the faint smile and frightened eyes?

Who are you afraid of?

Why do you run and try to hide?

There’s nothing to be scared of.

All I want is a little touch

And maybe a bit more.

Really, it’s not that much

So don’t be too unsure.

Where have you gone, little girl?

I hope you’re not too far.

Don’t let me chase you, little girl!

Come out, come out wherever you are!
