Just Don't

Just Don't

A Poem by Afayah
"

for mother and father

"

Don’t stifle me!
He’s all I have.
He’s all I really need
To be myself,
To be me…
Just to be.

Step away from my fantasy
And allow it to grow
So that I can smell it,
Touch it and savour it
And imagine what it can become.

He may mean nothing to you
But he’s not yours,
He’s mine!
Don’t stifle what we have,
What we will have…
Just don’t.
