well deserved love

What should I do

In a new love trapped by old feelings

When you’re not to blame

For the actions of another’s dealing

I promised myself to never love again

Then came you and your loving ways

I’m thinking that it’s good for now

But it is the kind that stays

You breathe life into a dying heart

You have been through the same type of pain

So I hope that you understand

If I worry whether or not you can stop my rain

What should I do

When fear consume me

And visions of the past

Won’t allow me to see

I deserve the love

That I believe that you hold for me

I deserve the happiness

And the way that allow me to be me

I deserve you but I’m scared

Because hurt takes a long time to go away

Is here for me now and will forever stay.

The first two lines set the tone for this piece. So many people struggle with embracing a new love because of past hurts and pains, but I tell you it's worth taking a chance. I say we should always go with our heart and take a risk in love regardless of the past. Beautiful piece, poet.
