Getting away from home at home

Getting away from home at home

A Poem by <3

The oar pushed the ripples towards the shore

and all the children ran out crying for more

The venue was a sunny day

And our hearts were ill swept

In a slightly funny way

I was leaving while I was kept

The noise is growing distant

As the current makes its way

The atmospheres resistant

As we head for better days

But there are shadows in the water

And it is ripping at the seams

All the sons and daughters

Letting free their stifled screams

Crying for resistance

Crying for desire

Crying for fulfillment

Building an empire

Of popsicle sticks and chewing gum

Down where the tide has left, will come

and wash away resistance

wash away desire

wash away fulfillment

create a new empire

Of documents and less discussed ideas
