pure and simple.

pure and simple.

A Poem by kenzie evans

I remember the way your stubble felt against my chin
when I fed you ellipses,
how you made love to me in so many syllables
as if we were just beginning to learn one another's language.
The full moon shone down on our bodies,
pouring through every hole in our skin
like commas.
Ask me a question and I'll tongue the answer between your knees,
bite parentheses into your neck
until you pause and drink me in.
This is not syntax,
or grammar; nor is it semantics,
this is the punctuation of love; pure and simple.
