a poem written for valentinesday

words fall to whispers by a candlelight 
in my dreams you dance in the wind wild free 
absorbing passion that flares up so bright 
you glide over mountain down to the sea 

I envision your face while you take flight 
I learned things I thought I already knew 
I fantasize about your touch at night 
I know now my life was lonely without you 

gently sweetly caressing a new high 
the wind chimes sing a sad long old bad song 
overwhelmed and restless in his arms take flight 
my heart has been empty of you so long 

I miss the feeling of a warm embrace 
hot chocolate by the hot fireplace
