A Dance with the Piano

A Dance with the Piano

A Poem by Angelica

Up and down the fingers dance on ivory keys.
String are softly beat as smooth tones
ring sweetly entwining in the air.
Notes mix and blend together to chords
delivering songs played for only one.

Up and down beats bounce against onyx keys.
String are beat furiously as irregular sounds
crash and clatter in a debacle.
Notes scratch against each other as fingers
jump from key to key for they were not meant
to play songs for any other.

Try and try the fingers dance, but only dance for one.
To others’ dismay the songs displayed come
from the heart and only play for one.
The fingers dance on keys in hopes to dance
with the fingers of the only one.
