Fascination

Fascination

A Poem by Emily Rose
"

What is it, really?

"

Fascination implies intricacy,
if not of the object, at least of the mind.
I doubt fascination would exist
without those fine, many-fibered threads of mystery

weaving, by degrees, a picture of

perceived perfection.

So we yearn for sweet complexity!

Like painters without canvasses

we spill our colored souls

upon the half-forgotten stones,

brushing the blanche-black,

dichromatic world

with vivid fascination.

The first six lines are one of the best definitions of fascination I have ever read.
" - - - fine, many-fibered threads of mystery, - - - " and of course, your first line,
"Fascination implies intricacy". Yes, Indeed.
You use some superb descriptions too "blanche-black" and "dichromatic world " As one always yearning for "sweet complexity" and "vivid fascination", I beg of you, don't go off in any other directions. I am fascinated with this one just as it is. For some reason, the word 'filigree' kept popping into my haed as I read it. I suppose finely wrought silver to could be termed 'fascinating'.
Lovely poem,
John

Wonderful! Uplifting though it may be, I am compelled to step back and commiserate. Brushing the ... world with vivid fascination? I love it. You've painted a smile onto this face.

I like the direction you chose... the world to many is a fascination which is greatly expressed here... I think many writers can identify with this piece
