I wrote this in a few moments of insight, including some drunken moments, so keep that in mind if and when I pull it.

I drink fine scotch

And smoke great cigars

To make up for my immaturity

I read a lot

And love history

To make up for my ignorance

I work hard

I shake things up

to make up for my failures

 

This is why I drink what I do

This is why I smoke what I do

This is why I read what I do

This is why I work as I do

 

I have always regretted things

Held grudges against myself

Hated life for reasons beyond my control

But I still live on.

 

I hold these things in too high a regard

I think too quick

And act too slow

I write too much

And read much more

 

I drink too much

and still I think.
