As I Went

As I Went

A Poem by ajbre23
"

I wrote, "As I Went" a while back, while I was going through a particularly rough situation. It was meant to show my perception of what dying is like.

"

I sat quietly under the tree,

staring solemnly into the darkness,

the cold air grabbed at my bare arms,

pulling me further into obscurity.

My breath seeped out of my mouth

like an ominous cloud into the night.

As I watched the blank canvas of gloom,

waiting for him to come for me,

the seconds went by as though they were hours.

The gusts of wind became stronger,

and the darkness swirled around me.

I felt my chest tighten as he reached out and grabbed me.

Then the world went dark.
