Unnamed

A Poem by A Jackson
"

I struggled to come up with a title for this one but after I thought about what I had written, the contradiction that comes through when you really think about the words, the title became very clear.

"

Look through my eyes " what do you see

The wonderful colours, the sight of the sea?

The pure spirit waters that soften the sand

Or the tempestuous waves that crash into land?

What do you see when you look to the sky

A mixture of colours " soft on the eye?

What do you see when you look to the street

Mechanical anger, the quick-step of feet?

What do you hear when you listen so brief?

Is it the bib of horns or the fall of the leaves?

What do you listen for when you go outside,

Is it the hum of the birds or the beasts that we ride?

How do you feel when you hear of a storm?

Do you get the same feeling when you hear of a war?

Of soldiers fighting; escorted to death?

For Earth’s treasured creatures its’ a similar test.

Look through my eyes " what do you see?

The wonderful colours, the sight of the sea?

The pure spirit waters that crash into land

Or the tempestuous waves that soften the sand?
