knowing your worth

knowing your worth

Knowing your worth

O mighty river

“Am I not a part of you?”

Asked the water in the pot, to the river

And the dried leaf below the tree, asked

“Why did you discard me?”

And the nest enquired the bird that left it lonely

“Can you carry me along with you?”

Rays that fell on the ground

Blamed the sun of its negligence

And the age old coin walked into the market to know

Its value in the present

The dustbin stood silent, for it knew its worth

Was not more than the garbage that is disposed!
