Come Away Mother

Come Away Mother

A Poem by Aaron K.
"

A short poem on a beach

"

Iridescence paints the ground

Upon the grains where I am found

Ocean waves so cold and deep

Could lull one’s sorrows away to sleep

As I lay and feel the texture

The heavens bear down their icy nectar

I stand again upon my feet

Can feel my chest, detest the beat

Where I walk the sand gives in

No different than the man within

The waves rise up to seal my fate

Come away mother, let us leave this place

Well it's cryptic, at least it is so to me. There is an implication of death or impending death. A loathing of life, depression and resignation are suggested, at least to me. The poem is not about kittens and butterflies, or so say I. How say you?
