Half Piece of Moon

Half Piece of Moon

A Poem by Aks
"

Little kids are always too cute to handle, specially their queries....

"
“Half piece of Moon”

It was a beautiful night
With a crystal clear sky,
That lovely half-moon,
Was shining bright and high..

Gazing from the window
That little girl was wondering
How come this moon lost its shape?
That round one last time,
Is only half now, why this gap?

Has it fell down and broke itself
Or some thief, stole it from the shelf
That cute little doll, asked her mom
“where is moon’s house, where he comes from?
Who stole its half piece, where it is gone?
Where we will find it, tell me mom.”

“Baby the moon is, like your ice cream,
It melts down every night
When you’re lost in your dreams,
Once it melts and vanishes from sky.
It becomes dark everywhere and then God stops by,

For the cute people like you, he grants a boon
To curb the darkness and give us light,
To show us the path and get strength for everyday fight
He keeps a new full piece from his box
That bright beautiful thing that we call as “MOON”

Very cute poem. It makes me wonder how the mom explains how the moon reappears in its cycle. This is like what a mother would say to a very small child. It's a beautiful poem and very well written.
