A MOMENT IN TIME

IF I COULD GO BACK JUST A MOMENT IN TIME

WHERE WOULD I GO WHAT WOULD I FIND

WOULD I FIND YOU STILL HERE HAPPY AND FREE

OR WOULD YOU STILL BE  FAR FAR AWAY FROM ME

 

WOULD YOU SMILE AND SAY IT WAS ALL A DREAM

OR WOULD YOU STILL BE GONE SOMEWHERE I CANT SEE

MY BEST FRIEND IS GONE AND I AM STILL HERE

TO SIT AND MY ROOM AND CRY LONLEY TEARS

 

IF I COULD GO BACK JUST A MOMENT IN TIME

COULD I CHANGE THE PAST AND YOU'D STILL BE MINE

IF I WOKE UP TOMARROW AND YOU WERE STILL HERE

I COULD FINALLY STOP THESE ENDLESS TEARS .

Even though there is a lot of sadness in this poem, the idea that your friend is "somewhere I can't see" provides some hope that you will meet again, just not right now. It might be nice to provide some details about your friend--what about this person do you miss? It could help the reader identify a little more with your feelings. Keep writing!
