Lights Off

Lights Off

A Poem by Samer Al-Abed

Two steps away, there she was,
The source of his high and his buzz,
She always had him in plain sight,
But never saw him under the right light.

In his dreams he tastes her lips,
Holding her firmly at the hips,
Poof! She vanishes into thin air,
Wakes up and of course she's not there.
