Between...

Between...

A Poem by alanwgraham

Between …

between a  beginning and an end

there lies a story

between sense and nonsense

there lies the truth

between infatuation and passion

there lies love

between a mother and a baby

there lies a lullaby

between action and inaction

there lies intent

between silence and a word

there lies a whisper

between a poet and a poem

there lies a dream

between cradle and grave

there lies a life

between life and death

there lies a breath

So many great statements written in the poetry.
"between life and death
there lies a breath"
A poet create. Sometime happy ending and sometimes, not. I do like the above lines. Thank you Alan for sharing the amazing poetry.

A "world" of absolutes... and we "lie" in between... so many "lies" in between all the truths.

Hi
I like it; simple, but strong. The connection in the last four lines served well to conclude the piece. Thanks.

Cleverly structured poem and wonderful 'implied' metaphors, makes a very good read! Thank you, Alan, for sharing.

This is a great job of defining "life"! Each one of your well-chosen spectrums is perfectly worded. Your wording isn't full of imagery so much, but it's very thought-provoking. My favorite is: poet & poem . . . but each one is a startling life observation. Everything in life is a spectrum in my opinion! Great job!

Very nice poem, I pose one question:
Between a poem and a poet,
What lies there?

Alan, I like this. I like the repeated use of between and the strength of each of the coupled words and the 'between-point' of each. I also like the slight sense of progression that each image seems to flow semi-chronologically. Nice work! Nigel

Beautifully contemplative and thought provoking truths set to pen and page by one who is, not only a fine writer of stories but, truly a Poet in his own right ... Lovely logic that is indisputable in its imagery and message ... Kudos!
