Rose

Rose

A Poem by Y.S.F

A rose smiled at me

My eyes as red as could be

Murmurs of peace and trouble turn me away

How I lost the rose I cannot say

In the midst of the crowd I ask my fear

"Did she see me? And was she actually here?"

All at once the voices deafen me with silence

My heart threatens me with its violence

I look around the empty ground

My useless self, only thing to be found

Petals of ethereal beauty escape me

At the end, it could not be
