to be Brief

to be Brief

A Poem by albee

…to expostulate

What majesty should be, what duty is, what day is day, night night, and time is time; therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit, and tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes,

I will be brief…” Polonius

“Hope” is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul

And sings the tune without the words

And never stops--at all     ...Emily Dickinson

life is a bowl of cravings

food sex and stuff

our balance sheet

it is unknowable

the cosmos to large

sapien's brain to small

agnosticism

the memories still haunt

stern framed nuns' mouths

contumely

scant words

penetrating the now

with impact

haiku

like the minutia of my daily effluvia

aromatic reflections, consumptions

and assumptions...my poetry

chiseling strata

under my linguistic brain

only gut gurgles and tears

speak to me

it ant easy...saddled with this beast of a biological imperative...eat survive reproduce...food sex power...crawl run die...amen...

"life is a bowl of cravings" . . . "the minutia of my daily effluvia" . . . to me, this poem is not brief, but every idea is enjoyed & appreciated. Love that it feels like you're blowing off human's tendency to over-complicate, over-analyze, over-consume, over-babble . . . getting old & living in the wilderness for the past 10 years has changed my perspective dramatically. All that daily effluvia (mine or others) is not a bit missed! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
