a song of heartbreak and betrayl

please give me strength

something to justify

I need a little faith

in this life

 

the angel in my dreams

is a demon in my waking hours

who forces me to my knees

I never knew she held such power

an image I held in reverence

for years days would not end

a nightmare I thought was over

to my despair your here again

 

the echos of our violent times

sing clearly in my mind

your hearts as dark as your make up

the best thing I never had

sultry sullen your pouty lips

oh man lifes a drag

there once was a band of brothers

and one who walked alone

they wandered empty highways

through lonely nights of stone

they met a crooked man who had crooked smile
he had a crooked cat

and they walked crooked mile

 

orange lightning cracks the sky

for an instant you see the monster
note the glimer in it's eye

your shaking now your breaking down

as you realize your need

but no one is gonna save you
hear the whisper of trees

 

a prayer in the darkness

please let me be heard

I want just one more day in this world

you'll call my name in your darkest hour

I'll heal your pain

and you will touch my power

 

I reap the whirlwind ride the tide

I've been cursed for my betrayal

hope and my bride both vanish

just like magic it's tragic

I was so damn close man I almost had it

you can't deny the truth

when a heart has been betrayed

it grows cold as the grave

that haunts me taunts me calls my name

all I want to know can I be saved

very good, alot of description in this poem. i liked several different parts of it. i have to say i felt the same way for awhile. but it seems like there's is three poems into one. i like it, but i think it could just flow a little better when changing poems to fill into others. but overral it was good. good read
