The Heart Is A Stranger

The Heart Is A Stranger

A Poem by Alene Parr

The heart is a stranger

You think you understand

But it tricks you and laughs

It plays with your mind

And lies and lies and lies

The heart is a stranger

Coming at you from the darkness

It wears a long coat and a hat

To hide its twofaced eyes

And lies and lies and lies

you are welcome
maybe you should write more poetry...but be warned, it gets addictive...This one is very clever, the heart is indeed a stranger at times and I loved the reference to the long coat and hat as if it hangs around on street corners selling your secrets
