Scars, Inside and Out

Full of scars,

        - aches,

         - pains,

but when he smiles, he helps the pain go away

 when he laughs, he helps the aches go away

       when he listens, cares, he helps the scars go away

       by little, by little, the scars fade,

   the aches heal,

   the pain simmers and float away,

         because once a broken heart, finally healing

             once a cold heart, finally feeling
