Write What You Know

Write What You Know

A Poem by Ashley

they say to write what you know

what if you no longer know anything?

the things once held so sure, the black and the white

all morphed to gray?

what do you write then?

if you know nothing, are certain of nothing.

and you live in shades of gray

do you still have a right to have a say, or

is your voice taken away?

This poem is written with such an intense question, it leaves me wanting more! Short, but fantastic :)

Hope not as I live in gray constantly! I like this very much.

So many deep questions in this poem. Even in so much inner chaos, there is always a way to express what is going on.

Very intersting poem! The title interested me, and you know what? It's true. They do say to write what you know, but what does that really mean? Does that mean that I can't write about flying cars or dinosaurs or anything like that?

My favourite lines would have to be 'do you still have a right to have a say, or/is your voice taken away?' A very well written poem. Thank you for writing!

Interesting take, of saying what is on your mind. You nailed this one perfectly.
