In Bloom

In Bloom

A Poem by Laz K.

Cherry trees in full bloom

Should be a joyful sight

But their beauty brings no joy

To a world where your hands

Rest no more in mine

We walked in the woods

And found many thrills

Following a winding path

To a waterfall in the hills

Where I bathed in your love

Oh, you flowers, white and frail

Soon you’ll fall like autumn rain

From the height of your blind joy

To these dark depths below where

All is silent and cold winds blow

sadness touches me reading this...I am remembering a best friend I lost
36 years ago...a beauty inside and out...
she played guitar with love, she loved friends selflessly...
she is missed.
"all is silent and cold winds blow"
you said it for me, Laz.

Your poem drags us thru the springtime mud of seeing the seasonal wonders, but only being reminded of so many bright spots that refuse to shine. Mournfulness is palpable here (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Cherry blossoms sem to be a bittersweet reminder for many of the joy once shared at their beauty. Perhaps their confetti like falling is a step too far for a mind that doesn't need more reminders of what is gone, with hand feeling naked and alien without their touch.
Once, they reverberated within the senses, now a painful vision as they and your fall from grace, watched in silence with senses numb.

Heavy with loss, this one. The speaker was apparently in a relationship that reached the heights, but which is no more. It is the risk taken by anyone who loves.

A risk indeed; or one might say it is the price one pays for such luxuries.
