SINKING

SINKING

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

lost chances

"

SINKING

she sank like water in a drain storm of misery,

what was once wonder became splashes of meat tenderizer.

table set, mouths and jaws set to devour her once

cavalcade of magnificence adventures in unknown scripts,

poems, stories, tales beneath a genius' horizon.

The bullion cooled, burps littered the air,

dishes piled in still air while in the far away strata

golden verse of hither & thither drained away.

Many have lived in this situation. I wonder how many make it out? Yes there was family, hopefully, it was a loving embrace.

the mundane life overwhelms the poetic...and what she dreamed of in lyrics came true in household chores and raising family...hopefully there is some poetry left in that. She sinks into reality...her writing the fantasy that can't catch its breath anymore.
