Only So Much

Only So Much

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

the fear & stress of being overwhelmed

"

ONLY SO MUCH

A sturdy knock at the door heard its intended rival.

Things must be paid,

Lather of the hide was one thing.

The need to freeze stood by the doorstep of his feet.

Whether he remained or moved was of little value.

The other, once again, performed his knock of the door.

The moment couldn’t last much longer,

his icy step neared the door

on the other side stood everything

but the consequence was he couldn’t bare more than two

he crumbled under the sheer madness of it all.

When I worked as a nurse in ER this would happen to me. I use to visit the bathroom just to get away.

this is really being overwhelmed...all those feelings knocking...
hard to withstand the pressure...and everything just gets so cold and discombobulating....
