Immortal Friends

On the absence of anything proper to say

he hushed his spirit

knowing fully well that a

conversation with his soul was in

the making.

on an evening of full moon, warm breezes

and stars everywhere

he felt his toes on the Earth

as his spirit squarely faced the soul of his dreams

on a handshake of sorts they vowed to be

immortal friends.
