Silence Under the Lid

Silence Under the Lid

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

their words embued in me

"

Silence Under the Lid

So you wallow in a silent can of your own
The footsteps of words slowly exiting from moment's tongue
Rendered unthinkable you pause
sifting the illusions surrounding your eyes
But you pause again rendering toward the unthinkable
How silence drifts into Camus, Hesse, Emerson
At last you found their being under silence's lid.

Hi Doodley!

I remember those days of turning myself into a vaccum cleaner and sucking all those wonderful words into my mind and soul. Thanks for visiting!

.
Once again, a very eloquent poem, rich in thought and beautifully worded.

Silence. I love it. And one day, it may be my only friend.

I love Camus......particularly "The Plague".

A lovely, reflective write.

A very well-crafted piece on poetry. Your choice of words reads sublime. The title which is also reflected in your last line as well as your first line are my favorites. Perfectly framed. High-level work. I enjoyed reading.

If feels like centuries since I read these authors. After Vietnam's huge ignorance I found myself reading everything that leads to wisdom.

Thanks Jacob for your continued support!

and when their words become ours, we pause...and our silence once mute, now pours itself into those words which finally find an exit into being.
