In the Stillness of Older

In the Stillness of Older

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

an excitement for the first leaves in my backyard woods.

"

In a Stillness of Older

In a schism over leaves,
New leaves of spring,
How long does it take to see new leaves?
Does old have anything to do with it
I've blossomed my eyes in joy
April comes she will
I hear her voice
calling me to be older and older still.

Everyone says I don't look 67 but with a bad heart, diabetes and arthritis I feel age sinking into me.

Thanks for the visit!

Regards,
Al

i love the concept of "old having anything to do with it"

April calls, and i guess for some of us it is our job to be older.

New leaves don't come as fast as they used to, or we just don't notice things as fast as we used to.
