I Don't Know

I Don't Know

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

I Don't Know

I was never here alone,
Words slipping off the mouth of my tongue
I don't know
I simply don't know
Where you are
What kind of love are you made of
Do you hold eyes for me
I have become shadow and breath
I look behind your eyes
You are not there
You were never there
I see you in a mouth of stone
Quiet,
Ever pacing,
Further away from my own destiny.

Sometimes Pryde a poem fits like a tailored piece of cloth that wraps around you and squeezes. That's what I like about this poem. Thanks for visiting!

I once fell madly in love with someone who did not love me back ... oh the words I gave that 'mouth of stone'. With romantic love, especially if it is unrequited, we create a stone-person. Insightful write, Al:)

oh but we know now don't we!? :) slipping away with nothing to do to stop it ..i feel the sad meloncholy of the experience .. really like your "...mouth of stone Quiet "
funny how we think we hide things isn't it ...but only the most practiced can do that ..and then not for long ... best to come right out and say it ;)
