Wish Upon a Star

Wish Upon a Star

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

fly me away

"

Wish Upon a Star

I have passed the age of youth
within the infamy of soul.
Misunderstood, callus like an unloved poet,
who meanders like a chaos
in a leveled forest of trees.
A trip here, a trip there,
Traveling at the speed of sound
Oh light speed take me
where stars heaven's abound.

I really like this one -- while it is a bit fatalistic, it still feels thoughtful and optimistic -- a person who realizes their place in the universe.

A magical write filled with dreams and hope for the future. If only we could hop on light beams and travel to the stars....think of the possibilities. Poets are often misunderstood, but other poets understand. Wonderful! Lydi**
