At Funeral's PlaceA Poem by Alfred KukitzamenAt Funeral's Place He gave the flowers at her funeral similar to ones on their first date, the petals in the midst of bloom, He heard her thank you all over again moist soft lips echoing from the past settling into tear's place where sorrow finds its rest. Kneeling, bowed head, he asked God for favors, Favors that caused his heart to cry Have her wait for me Dear God Have her near when I lay on my dying bed In the interval of years when memory fades beyond the sunset She held him closely, her head near him, remembering the prayer that God told her when she so many years ago lay at rest. © 2016 Alfred KukitzReviews
