Homecoming

Homecoming

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

the wait continues

"

Homecoming

the wait continues

Sweet soil here
Feet moving but firmly implanted
Wow! Joy streaks across the atmosphere
The old man shows love!
Whoa! I’m home from Vietnam
Family dribble around the fanfare
Where is the dance people.......family?

the wait continues

I try to arc out of time bound self
Curves in space get in my way
I land, puff, puff, at the beginning of time
Can I get out of this space?
Go back to a real homecoming
Where I and the Big Bang boom
ourselves into togetherness?

The wait continues..............

Thanks John!

It's now moral injury. I'll need death to stop my VN thinking.

Has the sound of PTSD, of one who has trouble moving past a time in the past. Hopefully healing will come, but until then, as the man says, the wait continues. Well done.
