sunshine new

sunshine new

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

dawn

"

sunshine new

a pencil lay corner mind
eraser gone to oblivion
ink supply in rapid succession
lays spilled
i near forgot the notes written
by someone called me
i hear song without a word of quiet
early year, January, the soul emptied of spark & rhyme
cast as poet, norther hemisphere,
hearing me sing! ha!
i find near a humble retreat
i am home!

here no rules rein
i swallow spit,
blow the eternal nose
hear a belch coming aboard
yes i have sailed my mind
its the least an old man can do
for fun in a sprawl of sunshine new!

I sure can relate to this, Alfred. And one does not need to be classed as 'old' to be afflicted with a wandering mind. It affects all of us. Particularly those with a creative streak.

For just like the coming of warmth, the mind will return from its travels with ideas and words in abundance. And then the writing shall begin.

Fine work, Alfred.

How strange it is, the way the mind works or pause; needing to display, needing to move on but stuck in the air, suspended. Lack of light perhaps dulling thoughts, creativty suspended. Time to .. turn away, cede to necessity, being self in the moment when life is its rawest self. Perhaps.

how interesting ...also like the sunshine new in direct opposition to the doldrums of writers block .. to see that as something new is really pretty inspiring .. the turn to the very private comfort of one's castle is very down home and real ... so good to have a place to belch and fart ;)

I loved your phrase of "sunshine new". All this really needed was a cup of coffee, for me, reading it!

May you feel the warmth of sunshine new every day!
