flower girl, ring bearer

flower girl, ring bearer

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

my chance to wed

"

Flower Girl, Ring Bearer

do dahs around the imagination,
sifting sugar flies that danced in mother’s cake
the clock read all of seven years old now
it’s the funniest thing that now
you just don’t know when it will show

afterward we gathered around a cool evening sky
a few sporadic chirps from birds bedding down
earth as usual hung in the air or was it the universe
we tried to feel earth rotation but it was
seemingly lost because of the speed of human consciousness
at times the turtle’s mind appealed to me.

tomorrow Lilly and i would be respective flower girl and ring bearer
i was tempted to ask for her hand in marriage
you see, I HAD THE RINGS!
but declined, our age, it seemed, wouldn’t make the difference.

this made me smile...such a nice story...and that
"turtle's mind"----i like that...nice, slow and deliberate.
