The Pigeon's Flight

The Pigeon's Flight

A Poem by Allie A

Fly, my dear pigeon
You've been freed at last
Fly through the enormous field of grass
Your wings will put you in such aviation

Escape from the claws of injustice
That put you in a cage of suffering
You have suffered in fear and longing
You raise your wings of vengeance

Help me be free from agony
Teach me to escape from the pain I am succumbing
From the people who are torturing
And making me lonely

One day, I will fly with my own wings
Raise not my wings of vengeance, but of optimism
I'll see a rainbow from the most beautiful prism
It's my heart and soul that joyfully sings
