when you lose a friend.

when you lose a friend.

A Poem by Jennifer
"

to anyone who has ever lost a friend: I'm so sorry for your loss.

"

when you lose a friend,

and I don’t mean lose their friendship,

I mean they pass away,

you are never going to be the same.

you think about them every day,

every night,

every minute you are awake or asleep.

you see them in your dreams,

in the clothes you wear,

in the presents they have gotten you.

when you lose a friend,

you have so many questions

and no one there to answer them.

when I lost my friend,

the one question that I kept asking

to no one in particular, is:

why her?

why not me?

she didn’t want to die,

I did.

when you lose a friend,

everything in your life changes.

when you lose a friend,

you miss them so much.

when you lose a friend,

you can’t ever get them back.

This poem was very well written. When something like this happens, especially at a young age, there are so many questions that get left unanswered. It drove me crazy thinking and knowing that these questions would never get answered when it happened to me. It's been years now and I still think about my friend. All I can say is that it does get better, but with time. You won't forget your friend. Just always keep a good memory of her and try to live a more happy life knowing that it's what she would have wanted. Another lesson I had to learn.... at the time I was more depressed and suicidal. I wanted to die yet someone kind who a lot of people came to love died instead.
Anyway, like I said... it does get better later on. In the mean time don't ever keep anything bottled up inside. Let it out. Write it out or cry it out but don't let it build. I made that mistake and nothing but fear and hatred came from that. I hope all goes well and God bless.

Jennifer this was a great read:) I am one can relate very well , I had a dear friend in my life that passed away of the ALS disease he has been gone almost four years. He was my best friend , when I say best I am talking there everyday:) He was like my dad:) How we met was unreal, because back in my foolish days I was a thief, But it was an Ecc3/Psalms 23 moment ill never forget:) It does change a person bad. And yes a person does ask God why and why not me. Thank you for sharing this:)
