Daylilies

Daylilies

A Poem by bluebear

when each of my bones decide to lay on my everyday deathbed

I remember a time

that I once wore a crown of Daisies

before they were torn away from my careful strands

when each of my strands caress my structured shoulders

I remember a time

that I once wore a bangle of Dandelions

before their yellow dulled and rotted away from my delicate wrists

when each of my fingers no longer move

I remember a time

that I once wore a ring of Daylilies

before the sun melted away and slipped a band of ash through my fingertips

telling them, “I loved you.”
